This is a simple example of processing a portrait to bring out the subtle qualities of the subject, and to smooth the picture to make it glow a little. In this case we balanced the picture and brought down the midtones in the Pro Quick Edit box, and then use the Soft Glow (sharpen then soft blur) technique to tone down the picture. We also used the Dodge and Burn brush to bring up some of the facial features and bring them out of the shadows, as well as using the Burn option to bring down the background to bring out the subject.

The result is a much more balanced, natural picture with a soft quality.
