What's new in Sagelight

April 1st, 2010

Many changes have occurred with Sagelight over the last few months.   First, we're pleased to be associated with Gizmo's Freeware Site.  While Sagelight isn't freeware, we are offering a Pay What You Want version.  Hopefully this will allow Sagelight to get out to more people while still making some development income.

Sagelight supports .8BF Filters in both 8-bit and 16-bit modes. Sagelight has also been continuously worked on to make it more streamline.

The discussion board is active, and there is also a blog at sagelighteditor.wordpress.com.

In both places, you can learn a lot more about using the power in Sagelight to help you with your images and to make image editing more fun.

As you can see, there have been many changes with Sagelight (formerly Lightbox). A lot has happened in the last year. Many of you know that there have been some hold ups in the release of the new version of Lightbox, so it has taken a little while to roll out version 3.0

Introducing Sagelight

The name of Lightbox was changed to Sagelight for a few reasons.  Primarily, it's because Sagelight represents a new editor compared to Lightbox.  It has 40+ new and advanced functions, and the core engine has been revamped with MMX and SSE technology.  The basic interface is faster, and Sagelight has entered a new realm of editing power.

Sagelight is now more the editor that I intended -- an editor that is very fast powerful with image enhancement, with a  new way of looking a things to make the editing process much easier and more intuitive, allowing you to edit your picture at a professional level without needing to know the editor like the back of your hand.

And it's growing.  Now that the core engine has been revamped, the focus for the next version is to get in even more relevant functions. With that, comes what the people who use it want.  So, feel free to send messages to me and also to use the discussion board.  You can access both from the main page.

Enjoy using Sagelight.  If you like it, please let people know about it.  It is currently discounted by $20 while I shift completely over to the Sagelight URL and move out Lightbox terms from the software.

Thanks,

Rob
